形態特徵

  • Large Evergreen trees; bark grayish; branchlets stout; bud scales imbricate, pubescent at first, later glabrate, margins ciliate.
  • Leaves broadly ovate-oblanceolate, 15-22 cm long, 4-8.5 cm broad, coriaceous, acute to short caudate at apex, obtuse at summit, cuneate at base, entire and slightly revolute, glabrous and lustrous above, glabrescent to glabrous beneath, midrib impressed above, elevated beneath, lateral veins 7-15 pairs, flattened above and elevated beneath, veinlets indistinct above, reticulate beneath; petioles stout, 2-3 cm long, 2-3 mm across; young Leaves and bracts reddish.
  • Inflorescences cymose-panicles, terminal or subterminal, glabrous; peduncles 15 cm long; pedicels 7 mm long; flowers yellowish-green, 7 mm across; receptacles 0.6 mm long, glabrous outside, villous inside; tepals 6, glabrous to glabrate outside, puberulous to glabrate inside, outer ones oblong, 4 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, acute, inner ones 4.5 mm long, 1.5 mm broad, entire, ciliate; fertile stamens 9, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, filaments 1.9 mm long, barbate at base, anthers 4-celled, introrse, oblong, 1.5 mm long, 3rd whorl 2-glandular, filaments 2.3 mm long, glands 0.5 mm long, stalked, stalks 1 mm long, barbate and adnate at base of filaments, anthers extrorse, 4th whorl subsagittate, 1.5 mm long; ovary glabrous, ovoid, 1.2 mm long, the style glabrous, 2.5 mm long, stigma capitate.
  • Fruit compressed-globose, 1.2 cm across, with persistent, reflexed enlarged tepals.

分布

  • 台灣 : in broad-leaved forests from lowlands to 1,400 m throughout the island, very common in lowlands.
